Night Mare Moon and Luna...both and one.

Hatching with ink has always been one of my favorite ways of creating shadow and texture, and I wanted to see if it was possible to apply it to a digital painting in some way. I also tried a different overall approach to the painting as well, and I'm really pleased with the result! The overall style is a little closer to the way I actually draw when working with traditional media.

This is a good picture, but Luna doesn't really look like Luna, sorry. If it weren't for the bit of her cutie mark that I can see, I wouldn't have known it was her at all. Nightmare, on the other hand, is very recognizable.
